Mariel Kessenich serves as the Nebraska State Director for Citizens for Free Enterprise, bringing over 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communications. She has a strong track record of building inclusive networks, driving community-focused initiatives, and advocating for small businesses and free enterprise.
Mariel previously led outreach and operations for national and state-level organizations, including efforts supporting military families and veteran communities. She also owned and operated a farm-ranch business in Nebraska, where she managed daily operations, led public engagement, and represented agricultural interests at community and legislative events.
Known for her hands-on leadership and commitment to service, Mariel holds a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management and Leadership and is currently pursuing further studies in negotiations and conflict resolution. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and staying connected to her rural roots.
